ObamaIsNoDiplomat, I'm an American who has lived in Asia many years (23+, the past 20+ nonstop, the last 16+ in Bangkok), and my daily life brings me in contact with people from a fair number of countries, as it has done for years.

During the Bush years, most people were exasperated, to one degree or another, with President Bush, including even a few Americans. However, since President Obama ascended to office, most people, including Americans, are at least minimally pleased with him, some greatly so, especially among those who were most exasperated during the Bush years.

Every single Thai I know thinks President Obama hung the Moon. They like their country not being used for renditions.

BigDonCapitalist, that may be right, but let's remember that President Bush never came up with any documentation proving nor even hinting his absence from military duty, which lasted months, was legitimate. If fact, given the standards President Obama is expected to meet, President Bush needs to prove he shouldn't be re-activated, court-martialed for desertion, and sent to the stockade. On a lesser note, the State of Texas refused to release his driving record, too.
