Political Brawl Series: The South Korean Phil-a-bustup…

Posted by Apoliticus Editors on 7/22/09 • Categorized as Political Brawls

Political debate can get heated at the best of times, and every once in a blue moon, politicians will spurn the verbal joust for a good ole donnybrook. Because we all know nothing builds respect for political institutions like brawling legislators, Apoliticus is featuring a continued series on political brawls that are sure to get you to tune in to C-span over The Fight Network.

So in some asian nations, like South Korea, politicians use a very sophisticated age old political tactic to avoid opposing votes on a bill…they don’t let opposition mo-fos vote. If you happen to be one of those opposed to the bill in question, the level of irritation can fall somewhere between being stuck on a delayed plane with the north american chapter of ” incontinence anonymous” and being the last dude who really believed Bernie Madoff.

Enter a vote on a controversial media bill in the Korean parliament, and witness the wrath of the opposing party as they get all democratic on the ruling party’s asses, blocking doors with furniture and phil-a-busting up men and women alike:

And the best part in the video here is opposition members doing their best impression of flying freakin squirrels trying to invade the dais. Heaven help whoever actually made it.

flying squirrel politicians

This dust-up happened earlier this week. The bill passed.
