President Obama lifts ban on Stem Cell research, imposes ban on the forming of uneducated opinions…

Stem cells...sound really dangerous, but who the hell knows?

Stem cells...sound really dangerous, but who the hell knows?

WASHINGTON-Earlier this week, President Obama lifted the restrictions on taxpayer-funded stem cell research that had been imposed by President George W. Bush early in his first term.

In another piece of related legislation, President Obama signed into law a broad ban on “people forming uneducated opinions”, dramatically changing the debate surrounding such hot potato topics as immigration and gun control and putting the punditry industry in extreme jeopardy. Talk show hosts such as Rush Limbaugh, Jim Kramer and Keith Olbermann faced severe production delays as their staff attempted to find the research that would substantiate their scheduled diatribes.

The five people who actually understand stem cell research said that they vehemently agreed with the new pieces of legislation.

  1. We should all be very happy to have pushed our leader to remove the “ban on science” that has existed for the past eight years. I don’t really think he is going to be successful on removing “people forming uneducated opinions”. We, collectively, have raised children into adults who are uneducated after graduating high school and continue living with literal belief in the Bible. We have many uneducated opinions that guide our culture in need of removal at the same time, and how about the facts we lie to ourselves about. It is rhetoric like this, from Obama, that make me think he politically astute but in essence just like the rest. A good man, with good ideas whom is stuck in a system ruined by lies and liars.

  2. There was no ban on taxpayer-supported research using adult stem cells and private investment in embryonic stem cell research was allowed throughout the former administration’s tenure. Embryonic stem cell research came with significant issues regardless of the moral implications, particularly since adult stem cells can be ‘reprogrammed’ to act in the same way as embryonic cells.

Your first premise is false. Do not count yourself with the 5 who understands this stuff.

As to the “ban on science” Scott claims, he may believe that all scientific discovery was somehow banned during the Bush presidency, but it’s nothing more than childish, empty ad hominem. As far as ‘uneducated opinions’ go, the current POTUS has plenty to go around, particularly when it comes to economics and foreign policy. Obama will say what the teleprompter tells him to, and the nightly news will ignore the dozens of ‘ums’ and ‘ahhs’ he spouts when the teleprompter is off.
