So is there an economic boom in your universe?

AIG chief Edward Liddy held a press conference today to confirm suspicions that the rules of this universe do not apply to AIG.

Liddy continued to explain that AIG actually resided in a  Universeparallel, or more precisely, “mirror” universe, and used the story of bizarro Superman to illustrate his point: “Look… everyone knows that he can’t help but do the opposite of what Superman does in the normal universe…it’s the same thing with us…tell us the most appropriate thing to do and we’ll do the exact opposite”.

The senate spent the entire afternoon pondering the legality of having a large chunk of the country’s finances insured in a mirror universe, finally concluding that trans-universe deposit insurance was “probably a pretty good hedge”
against risk in the current universe.
