Washington, D.C.-Political humorists, satirists and cartoonists  traveled to Washington on bicycles to testify before Congress on what is Barack Obama`s first major crisis while in the White House, namely, a massive downturn in what is loosely known as the “Political Satire Industry”. Ironically, the crisis has arisen over fears that the Obama White House will be responsible, make intelligent decisions, and avoid saying stupid things.

“People need to understand that good government is just not funny. If we want to make people laugh at politics and visit our political blogs and view our political cartoons, then we need PR cock ups, uncomfortable moments with foreign dignitaries, poor legislation and badly mangled sound bites …in effect we need the President to fail.”

Several of the assembled political satirists fainted when a journalist pointed out that their interests were now completely aligned with those of Rush Limbaugh.
